A Message from Council

The last two Council meetings were attended by only six members. Council is running out of officers and volunteers to help with the administration of the Society. New, young members are needed if the Society is to continue. The Society needs a Secretary, Minute Secretary and two Trustees for the 25Year Membership Scheme to assist in particular the Chairman, Treasurer and Membership Secretary.
Council meets every two months at the Memorial Ground (Bristol Stadium) for a short meeting (1-2hours) to discuss finances, help to the School, membership, the Annual Dinner, etc..
As Secretary of the Society a volunteer would be expected to have custody of all books (except financial), answer communications to the Society and be a signatory of the Society's bank account.
The Minute Secretary would liaise with the Chairman to prepare agendas, record minutes of Council meetings, circulate these to the members and arrange venues.
The Trustees of the 25Year Scheme govern the Scheme, meet once a year to oversee the accounts and decide on future investments.

Should there be any one out there willing to offer their services either as an Officer or Council member willing to help with publicity and the twice yearly mail shots then we shall be able to continue servicing our 1000+ membership.

Please let your Chairman Nigel Sweeting know if you are willing to help.
